Stigma and misinformation about HIV are everywhere. Between the lack of sex education throughout our lives and massive HIV stereotypes in popular culture, it is easy to have a misperception on the state of HIV in the United States today.

 

Often times, the images and stories around HIV/AIDS from the 1980s are stuck in our brains and shape our worldview. However, over the last 35 years there has been immense medical and social progress when it comes to HIV.
